For a friend's 60th birthday. He gave me some walnut a few years ago. The top is bookmatched spalted maple.

Finish so far is just BLO, to be followed by some coats of shellac. Couldn't wait to post it.

The bottom is a raised panel.

Dimensions are 8 3/8" x 4" x 1 3/4"

This also gives me the incentive to make some boxes of my own. I have some spalted maple that I milled last year and it would be perfect for a lid like yours.

you dun right well on that walnut and maple combo ken:D:thumb: that spalted maple goes with the walnut like socks to shoes:thumb: sometimes things do come together perfectly huh... very nice tails..as well
