I notice when a post is edited it stays where it was with older postings. Sometimes the edit is meaningful and might have interest or value for members if their attention was drawn to it by flagging as a new post. I would like to see that. Just a suggestion if it can be done.

No you can't. If you want to add something to a thread, just post a reply to the thread and it will bump it to the top.

Don's pretty much summed it up. Once a post is in the lineup, it can't be moved to a different location in the same thread (even by the Admins or Mods).Like Don said, if there's new info to add, it's best done in a new post later in the thread.

Worth asking. Thanks.

You can update it a move the whole thing to the end as a new post, by clicking "edit", then click "go advanced", copy the post, click on delete at the top, then bring up a new repy, paste the old one and then add to it and then "submit" it again. I used this method for the story on SMC.
