I am planning on using full extension drawer slides (hd side mt. 75lbs+ capacity) in my bench base. The inside depth will be ~18.75in. How long of slides should I get? 18in? I ask as I have never done this type of slides, I have only used the bottom mount before.

Thanks!

18" is ideal for that size... Try this supplier: www.wwhardware.com
I'm not connected in any way with them, just have used them for several years to buy my Slides about half of HD or Lowes prices (even with the shipping) and they deliver promptly as well.

I have used wwhardware as well. I would make sure to get ball bearing slides.

Hi Brent,
It will be rewarding doing a project like yours.I have had better success with Accuride slides and Knapp and Vogt (KV) than I have with other slides in the full extension version. They are more expensive but they are less frail  .
