I've fondled one at both Costco and HD (Almost got thrown out of Costco :D ) and it definately had a different feel. I thought that there was the potential for side to side movement if one wasn't very careful with their technique. I couldn't cut with it of course so I don't know how it cuts. Maybe it's reputation is why Costco needed to and a purchasing incentive in the form of the stand?

Anyone own one and willing to give an unbiased report?

I REALLY miss my 708. I miss it very badly. :(
