Dust collector question

Question for you guys with bigger shops. I have an 1100 cfm jet dust collector 6 inch input going to a Oneida super dust deputy 5" considering i step down to a 4 inch line what is the farthest it will efficiently pull from the tablesaw. All of my larger chips will be closer but the tablesaw will be a 45 foot run with 1 90°bend ?

Have you considered calling Oneida? Their Tech department should be able to answer that question.

Agree with contacting Oneida. It seems hard to put scientific numbers to real world performance on DC's. I think your drop to 4" is a big mistake. I am managing to squeeze a little more life out of my (rated) 1350 CFM cyclone in a 1200 square foot shop through the use of 6" pipe, very careful planning to minimize length and smooth angles. Your add-on cyclone is probably knocking several hundred CFM off your single stage DC. I think that this combined with the reduction to 4" will give you unsatisfactory performance even at close distances. JMHO ;-)
