Especially for Niki (our jigmaker extradonaire!) and for all of you other jig builders on here, I have found a very interesting book at our state library, "Woodworker's Essential Shop Aids & Jigs", by Robert Wearing.

Sections include:
(1) Holding and Cramping
(2) Marking
(3) Routing Methods
(4) Machine-Made Joints
(5) The Sawbench
(6) The Drilling Machine
(7) The Lathe
(8) Tools
(9) Miscellaneous
Appendices (Cramp Handles, Easing a Hole, Threads and Nuts in Wood, Fixing Pressure Feet on Cramps, .....

I've only briefly scanned the book, but it looks very interesting and useful. The book is available on Amazon as a used book and I see a copy on ebay so it can still be found if one wants to look.

Thank you Jim

I have his older book "Making woodwork aids & devices" and I'm sure that the new one must also be very good and inspiring.

What I love about him is, the simplicity of his jigs...you can find everything in the local hardware store.

I'll look for the book in the GMC (Guild of Master Craftsman) Publication in UK
Last time - well, 10 years ago - I bought it directly from them...Amazon, is a little bit expensive - especially, the shipping...

Thanks

p.s. - this isn't a new book - copyright 1992 - but everything looks like it is still very applicable.
