Maple Bowl with a bit of Everything

This is the second turning from the maple I harvested a couple of months ago. Has a little bit of everything: bark, knot, curl, flame and even a small cross section of a branch.

Bowl is 10 ½” diameter x 4 ¼” high x ½” thick. Sanded to 400 grit and has 5 coats of Minwax Wipe-On Gloss Poly. Will wait about a week or so and then buff it.

As always, comments, critiques and opinions are welcome!

Thanks for looking!

Yeppers, that's a textbook example of almost every type of maple figure you'll find. (No birdseye or blister, though.) ;) Great job on the bowl. The form is new for you isn't it?

Thanks Bernie & Vaughn! The form is new - sort of a modified rice bowl - on steroids! It was fun and I was real happy with how light the color of the wood remained after applying the poly. Have a few more pieces of this maple that should prove worth the wait.......... but we'll have to see. Thanks again for the kind words!

It's like a segmented bowl without the segmenting. Maple is at the top of my favorites list, and you did an excellent job with it.
