Talking Julie Andrews Turns 69, this is funny. . .

Julie Andrews Turns 69, this is funny. . .

To commemorate her birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan 's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP.
One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used:
    > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > >
(Sing It!) - If you sing it, its especially hysterical!!!

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
    When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break,
    When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

    Tod,
I knew you guys would get a laugh out of this one. I'm starting to get exactly what the song says myself.

    Very funny (and true) lyrics.

Sadly, Roger's link to Snopes does point out the unfortunate reality that Julie wasn't able to sing on her 69th birthday.

The Sound of Music is my daughter's favorite movie...sadly I can recite most of it by memory. These lyrics are hysterical! It will make watching it a little easier.

It may not have been true but you got to love the lyrics though

I got a friend that absolutely loves her. I mean I think he would divorce his wife and marry her if the possibility was there. I mean he loves her, which is kind of funny unto its own. He had heard that Julia Andrew's had did some "questionable" movies in her day, and he went to the moon and back to get some of these old movies. It was really quite funny and how excited he got at the whole thing.

Myself, I'll take Tiffany Amber Thieseen any day, who was in the news this week as well. Guess she won't be on the new Beverly Hills 90210 show.
I have no intention of traveling from birth to the grave in a manicured and well preserved body; but rather I will skid in sideways, totally beat up, completely worn out, utterly exhausted and jump off my tractor and loudly yell, "Wow, this is what it took to feed a nation!"
