Tree down, wood orange, worth keeping?

    Hi Folks ,
What kind of tree is this? It is cut, but my question starts with what is it?
I would hate to throw away 100,000 pen blanks and multiple bowls some turners could turn if it is worth giving to someone?

The smaller piece with slick bark and on my computer it looks reddish, I would guess a wild cherry.
God and family, the rest is icing on the cake.

I'm so far behind, I think I'm in first place.
