I think I might need a bigger lathe...

Western Washington had the worst wind storm in over a decade last night. Combined with the wettest November in history, and rain in December..... I had a bad night last night.

I was very lucky, and blessed.

Is Douglas Fir any good for turning?

Not unless you like a lot of sap oon your lathe..

Yes you were luckey. It looks like your boats came out unscathed and that sectioon of fence may even be able to be put back up.

    Thanks, Don.

One missed my BMW, one missed my boat, one missed my patio roof in the back, and the other one through the fence missed the neighbor's deck. it's a real mess, and I have been without power for almost 24 hours now.

    I love generators!

Glad you are okay, I was thinking of you the other day when I listened to the Today show. Sounded like you were getting pounded.

Good thing it didn't hurt the boat too.

Wow Greg, I wondered why I hadn't seen or heard from you. Glad to see the damage was no worse than it was. (The forum Roofing Fund is probably a bit tapped out right about now.) Hang in there and stay dry.

Oh, and Don is right about turning fir... Do you have a fireplace or woodstove? If so, you're set for a while.

Glad you're ok. If stuff had to fall it certainly did it in the right direction. That is a lot of wood down in the yard, if you sent Stu a plane ticket he can come over and saw it up for you
