My first bowl

Having only turned pens since starting out about 3 years ago, I turned this (about 2 months ago) for a donation to the Carpenter's Local which hosts our wood turning club. They have a ceremony coming up and they have bowls of candy setting around. The club president thought it would be a great way of saying "Thanks!" for hosting our club so we were challenged to turn a bowl for for it.

Spalted Sweet Gum with slight curl about 5" in diameter. Finished with Enduro.

I don't think I've ever seen spalted sweet gum. That's some real pretty wood. And you did a great job, especially for a first bowl. Like Jim, I wish my first looked that good. :thumb:

Hey Greg, really nice work on the bowl. Looks like you've been taking mental notes while reading through the bowl posts. You really did do a nice job.

Question for you. How did you apply your Enduro? I've got it and really like it. The application is what's troubling me. I think I know what I was doing wrong, but would like to hear from someone who already has it down. Thanks
