Thanks. I too am partial to a high gloss as it magnifies the depth of color and detail of the grain. But at the same time, I too feel that a CA finish has the tendency to make the wood feel like plastic. But after all, CA is a plastic itself. I have been experimenting with other finishes. I know of some who are having great success with wipe on poly. The only problem I have with the WOP is finding the patience for waiting between coats!!!!!

Greg, I have never gotten finishes like that. A perfect high gloss has eluded me for as long as I have done pens. Beautiful.

Saw your demo at the gathering in CU last year... I've never been successful with the thick.. but get good results with medium. may have to try the card.. might be a good use of the business cards?
