My spur drive was on its last leg..
And then I dropped it this morning and the thing broke.. (it was a cheap one to begin with)...

So now im in need of a new one. Which brings up the question..
I don't want another cheapo, i'd like to do it right this time.

Should I get a 2 prong? 4 prong?
Should I go for the gusto and get a Sorby Steb Center?

Any thoughts/opinions?

I have a couple of the PSI centers that Frank mentioned, and have been happy with them, especially for the price.

I have the 1" and 5/8" Super drives and have great luck with them. They really work well. Rich I didn't have very good luck with the one you are asking about in your last post. Maybe it was my chuck but it just didn't work for me.

The two-prong drive center would be good for face grain turning. I don't think you would want to use it for spindle turning as it would easily split the wood.
