    First Woodturning Judged Show gloat

I entered my first turning show this weekend and was suprised with my return to the show Sunday. I won first place with the bud vase I made my wife and first place with the cube on the bias.

The biggest surprise was not only did I win Best of Division for woodturning with my monkey puzzle, but I also won Best of Woodworking (which included: intarsia, marquetry, scroll work, woodburning and woodturning.). I also get to buy some new tools as this wash a cash prize award!!

I definitely think I will be getting the Thompson gouges for christmas since my mom was very excited and kept asking hinting questions about what I needed to continue with this hobby.

    Yahooooo!!!

3 very nice pieces, Keith. I particularly like the little bowl. Super finish.

I like all three, but that center one is amazing and the amount of work that had to go into it, congratulations!!!!!!

God and family, the rest is icing on the cake. I'm so far behind, I think I'm in first place!

Very Well Done! That finish on the monkey puzzle bowl looks like glass.
