    Wood Spirit Carving

    This is a carving of a Wood Spirit done in Cottonwood Bark, Clear coated with rattle can, mounted on Red Oak Plaque. Wood Spirit is 9" hign. I made it for a friend as a gift. Comments welcome

    Hi Larry.

    I like it very much and I think it is well executed although I'm not a fan of wood spirits I must admit.

    The only thing that somewhat disturbs me a bit is the shield shaped support, it reminds me the base of those trophies with stuffed animal heads, but of course it is only my impression.

    Thanks Toni and Rennie. Toni that is exactly what it was, I took the plaque from a kit that I found and just put the finish on it after mounting the carving.

    Nice work, Larry. I saw you mention cottonwood bark in another thread, and hadn't ever seen an example of carved bark.

    I think I like that carving the best of yours that I have seen so far (only seen a couple though). Great job on that one.
