    A 'Bit' of a gloat

On the chancel furniture I'm building I need to mount an up-light in the base of the font and pulpit. I decided on an LED fixture because I feared that, being close to the floor, some little munchkin was likely to get a nasty burn from any other type of fixture. Minor problem, the mounting requires a 3" hole.

Hey, easy fix. Took a trip to the local Woodcraft and got exactly what I needed.

Now, here comes the gloat part. Last week I got a $10 gift card from Woodcraft - customer appreciation. The bit was $21. So, I paid just over half price. And, yes, I resisted the temptation to buy more than I went in for.

Man, 3" is getting up there in size. Sure wouldn't want to try that one with a handheld drill. Congrats on the pricing deal.

Good catch. You might be surprised at how much you use it after this project. Can be a handy thing to have around.

I'm already considering some designs for clocks as this is the right size for most of th battery operated clock mechanisms sold.
