    A Couple More Spalted Maple Bowls

    Just finished these two up today.

    John, you've got far too much of the pretty maple on your hands. Lemme know if you need any help storing it.

    Nice, I just love that spalted wood.

    I think I like the shape of the first one a little more, but they are both very nice

    I've said it before, you have the nicest spalted maple I have seen, man thats nice stuff Oh nice bowls also

    are you making your own spalted maple? that is some mighty fine wood there got any in flat form?

    Nice job Jon, I love the look of Spaulted wood, although if I turn it I have to plug up my nose and turn with a Four foot Gouge to stay away from it.

    Great wood and workmanship. I especially like the first bowl, spectacular grain.

    Larry, no I don't make my own.... wouldn't know how. I just been happening upon it. I do have a spot where I can get a bunch of maple and that is where I find alot of spalting. Actually, my 12 year boy spotted the last batch.

    there was a article in one of the mags recently on how to make your own with certian fungi..if you run across some that will make boards grab it!!!!
