I can't find the one I had a month or so ago, they had a Scorp similar to the one listed here

http://www.hiltonhandcraft.com/woodturningtoolsaccessories.asp

IIRC it was about $18 vs $30 for the homemade one there. I'm looking for the item # from the catalog (it isn't listed on their site. that I could find)

I'll keep looking for my copy, but would appreciate it if anyone has a copy handy and can locate the number. Thanks for checking!

I just went through Hartville's Master Catalogs for 2006-2007 (twice) and 2007-2008. I found no sign of a scorp ... mini or otherwise.

Sorry about that. :( Are you sure it wasn't a different vendor? :dunno:

EDIT: My 2007/2008 Lee Valley & Veritas catalog shows a "Hook Knife" for $19.50. Item number 01D20.01 ... could that be it?

Ned, what do you anticipate they will be using it for?
Some, maybe many, carvers use horse hoof knives for interior type cuts. e.g. spoons and such.
These can be purchased for under $10.00. I found one that is double bladed, can be used left or right handed for only $6.95.
I have a large spoon gouge I have never used. But, it was pretty expensive and I keep it around just in case I ever need it.

I found it, in Highland Woodworking, any of the three would probably do, but I'm ordering the bottom one tonight.
