Now that is a list! Wow I was not expecting that many of you guys to respond as quickly to that
I'm really liking all the diversity. I too am with all of you that go from classical to metal. I listen to almost everything, especially if someone suggests something I'll always give it a chance and check it out
Except most country and new R&B
My dad has a collection of ~4,500 records ranging anything from Leadbelly to Michael Jackson to The Who so I've always been trying to learn since I was a youngin, but still tons to listen to! Love the classic rock although agree with the radio ruining it.
Sorry about only 5, but I didn't think this many people would respond
Feel free to add! By giving a specific number I figured it would make you think REALLY hard about your choices
My absolute number 1, and I'll probably get made fun of for this, is Coldplay. I've been a huge fan and greatly inspired for numerous reasons. Also, Not that I've been to hundreds of concerts, but the ones I have been to including Coldplay 4 times, these guys blow the rest out of the water and put on one amazing show. They are also inspired by The Arcade Fire.. check em out!
Next I'd have to say a band called Muse. A couple years ago they became a little known around the USA because of their single off their latest cd but I think that cd is the worst of all of theirs. The first 3 albums rocked. Kind of a weird band but they have a mix of some heavier rock with kind of a Scifi sound with classical piano and the lead singer, pianist, guitarist Matthew Bellamy can really whip out the falsettos (when he's not screaming
)
The Killers. Getting into them a lot lately. Pretty much love all their stuff. And is it just me or do they kind of remind you of The Cars? Especially with the synthesizer effects...?
I'll finish it off with Pearl Jam and The White Stripes.
If I were to add on I'd throw in Queen, Zeppelin, Supertramp, Smashing Pumpkins, and many more actually so I'll stop
This is fun though, keep it going! It's interesting to see the variety
