Ive never worked with veneer, and I will be making cabinet doors.
simple doors, and Im not sure if I should attempt some veneer(glued) over
something like 1/2 inch MDF, or just buy something like Mahogany 1/4 inch plywood and make it easy,(either way, no worrys about wood movement.)
Besides being able to get a "nicer" looking grain or pattern, is there any advantage of veneer over a quality ply?(for door panel use only)

allen,
unless you are speaking of paperbacked veneer? applying veneer is a whole `nuther skill set that requires some different tools and practice to master, it`s not that dificult but most folks just don`t jump in and slap down some beautifully matched crotch panels their first go.
if you`re talking about the paper-backed products the just buying 1/4" ply will give you the same look for less money.
