Stack Dado Question?

Never used a Grizzly but I bet I know what will happen. It will cut just fine but your dado will not have truly flat bottom. It will have ridges because the arbor holes are not held to a tight tolerance and/or the blades tolerance concentrically are not held tight enough. Meaning one blade is going to be higher than the other...

Well, Jeff, you need a router plane. An old Stanley #71 will clean up those dado bottoms very nicely! Lee Valley has a really nice looking but pricey)Veritas one, too.

Sometimes hand tools really do do it better!
 
Hi Mark - I've never seen a stacked dado that had cutters with other than ATB or ATB/R on them, but I've only owned 5, and handled a few others, so there are many I've never seen.

Reading your post led me to go back to the Amana site where I showed myself that I was misremembering things again. Sure enough, all of the Amana sets are ATB/R
