    Router Table Top

I just completed build-out on my first Router table.Used the Rossuea?? Insert.Used Dbl-sheets of Melamie for the top

For my 1st attempt, came out pretty decent!

Question: I have read that you can coat main surface + Insert w/Clear Shoe polish to creat a nice slick finish for the work surface.

Any suggestions here as I hate to Destroy my progress so far?

Picked up Insert + Fence, etc at the Baltimore woodshow.
    Total $$ - 165

    Thanks

The shoe polish will work, but a harder wax like Simonize, or Trewax, or clear Briwax will give a more durable, longer lasting surface.

Actually, the melamine itself is pretty slick, and you may not need any wax at all.

My last router table was melamine, and I don't think I ever waxed it. The current one has a corian® top, and I use Simonize wax on it.
