Very nice. What is the wood? That is assignment #4 for my students, they already have three assignments, should be ready for the fourth in a couple of days. Do you have a ring tool or just cut it with a thin parting tool?

God and family, the rest is icing on the cake. I'm so far behind, I think I'm in first place!

i just painted it the cherry wood texture that comes with sketchup. i've done it in the real world both ways, with a skew chisel, and ring cutting tools. one for skill, the others for speed. if you can get the tape, richard raffan explains it rather well.
