Kinda pathetic that I could only turn out 2 things in the last 3 weeks, but...
So here we go. The bowl is 7"x3.5". Some kind of crazy walnut I picked up from BIL. Just the usual Mylands, but I'm picking up some Antique oil today.
First attempt at a pepper mill that is the mate for a saltbox for MIL. English walnut. The proportions look kinda weird but it feels good in the hands. 5.5" tall and 2.25" at the base. All I had was a 7" grinder, so I cut it down and re-threaded it. I had a different idea for the top, but like the geese around here...it went south. Thank's Keith and Frank for all the tutoring!!
Suggestions needed!!!!

Very nice pieces Jim. The bowl is beautiful, a real old world charm to it. I also like the size of the mill. I think too tall ones take away from the rest of the table, and say "look at me!"

If it'll make you feel any better, you've turned two more things than I have in the past two weeks. ;)

Nice work on both pieces, Jim. Can't think of anything to suggest. The walnut in that bowl looks like it has some great figure to it, too. :thumb:
