What a way to end a vacation

I have been playing grandpa for the last week. When I went back to work today I found out that I got laid off last Thursday. Me and 84 others. My old job wants me back so I will have to give them a call tomorrow and see what they offer. It was a nice break and I made a lot of new friends and life goes on.

Dale, nothing I can say can make it better. I only hope all works out for you. It is a disease that seems to be going around. Hope contacts with past job work out. Best of luck my friend.

God and family, the rest is icing on the cake. I'm so far behind, I think I'm in first place!

Well, that bites. Sure is a lot of that going around these days. Best of luck with the new (old) job.

That's not a pleasant thing to learn when you return from vacation. I'm glad you have a "safety valve".

Nasty way to lose your job!

I was once 'downsized via a voicemail message, while I was on day seven of a twelve day road trip. Then, when I tried to call the boss to get more info, I found out that my company credit cards and calling cards had already been cancelled. Needless to say, I had a few kind words to say when I got back (on day eight).

Only 'good' thing that came out of it, though, was that the Board of Directors fired the boss about a week later, and had him escorted off the premises - right out of the Board meeting! Maybe a couple of my phone calls did some good...
