    Music Workstation

So, I've come up with an idea for a 'music workstation'.

Basically a computer desk with a section built in for some rack mount equipment, a cubby for a computer, and some shelves and drawers.

I'm thinking that for this I'd actually like to have the whole thing done 'black'.

My current mass produced desk is particle board with what I can only assume is black melamine on it.

My question is, "Can I paint the plywood for this black, and have it last"?

Just not sure how to make a black cabinet out of plywood and have the black parts stay black over time.

What finish would you recommend? Any desk, regardless, of color, I guess would have wear issues with the finish.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

A latex acrylic enamel should hold up fairly well if the wood is seal with a good primer. Nice design.
