    How do you grip it in the lathe? Sorry, no turning experience here!

    Tenon turned on the bottom, now held by the scroll chuck:






    When I finish the bottom I use a vacuum chuck.

    Great-looking bowl, Mark. I've been rough turning a few smaller NE bowls out of some Jacaranda I got a while back from a neighbor. It's got nice firm bark that seems to hang on real good.

    that natural edge stuff is what take's my eye every time, and then you go and show the sequence of its birth aswell... maybe i am feeling ill nice thread and project
