Holy cow Chas...if any of us cross the pond, do we get lessons and wood? Based on the last several posts, I'm gonna book a flight. As always...well done!! :thumb:. But what do you do with all those great pieces? Are they sold...given away?

are they all fitted with a glass tube??
No Chuck, just the last one so far, the others were for dried flowers/grass arangements.

.... But what do you do with all those great pieces? Are they sold...given away?
The Beech items go to a regular customer (source of wood) for sale Jim. Others join the collection until someone takes a shine to them, like most home turners I know I've done good when a piece suddenly appears somewhere in the house with added contents.

How are you hollowing them out?
Here's a link on our UK forum with WIP pics Vaughn. Haven't invested in any specialist hollowing tools as yet, those mentioned in the linked thread plus a home made Orland tool are all I use.

Chas,
That looks like a great forum.. are you allowing membership from us 'colonials' as well... always looking for sources to learn more about this art form.

You're more than welcome Chuck, it's a friendly place and 99% of members go out of their way to help and encourage others. The General section and the Scroll saw section see a fair bit of input from around the globe as well.
