    IE 8 wadda mess

I believe it is important to stay current with certain things on my computer. My browser is one of those. Yesterday, I downloaded the new IE 8. And wadda mess. Pop up messages by the score, one every couple seconds. Somehow, I am no longer compatible with my HP printer and will have to crawl through the fires of hades to fix. I have toolbars I don't want, and much more. This is with less than one hour time on the 'puter this a.m. I have no idea what horrible discoveries lie ahead for me. And, please don't recommend Foxfire. Tried it, did not like at all.

    OK. No comment then.
God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do,
and the eyesight to tell the difference.

I can only express my sympathy for the choice you've made, Frank. Can't help you with IE, i'm afraid.

Ditto deux. I love FireFox, but then I used Netscape before instead of IE, so it wasn't much of a change. Jim.

IE8 is a very resource heavy application.
You may not like any Web browser.
    Step back from the machine.

Frank did a search and found this web site on Microsoft called "How do I uninstall or remove Internet Explorer 8?".

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700

Here is a site that covers Other things to try if you don't want to uninstall.

    Hope this helps.

Wise words. But, these days, stepping back from a computer is stepping back from modern life.
BTW, I do on occasion. Two hundred year old style canvas tent, buckskin clothes, cook over open fire, sometimes even shoot my own food with a flintlock rifle, etc.
But, I'll get it tamed. Always do. The grumbling part up front is part of the process.
Larry, I ferget what it was about Firefox I didn't like. I have deleted those details from my memory bank. But, I did use for about three months and went back to IE.
