While cleaning up the shop a few weeks ago I found a buried crotch log that my dad gave me last year. I cut it in half and turned this with one side. 11" wide and 4" tall. Finish is danish oil. Just realized I still need to sign it.

As always, comments/critques please.

PS...Dad do you still have some of the hackberry? :dunno::rolleyes:

Jeff,
That's a fantastic looking piece of wood.... I have several pieces of hackberry laying under a tarp in my shop yard... sure hope I get some spalting like that.

The bowls ain't bad either... very very nice.

That is some crazy spalting. Wonder how long the yellow and green colors will last.
I like turning hackberry a/k/a sugarberry, it can finish with a real nice chatoyance.
And, very nice turning. :thumb:

beautiful piece of wood- my only minor critique is that i would have liked the foot slightly bigger and the bowl slighly bigger maybe 2/3rds the diameter.
