A couple of pens that I cast the blanks for.

I cast these about a week or so ago. These were out of the same casting. I make 5 blanks out of each casting and sold 3 of the blanks. I always take the leftovers for myself. These were the ugliest of the bunch. The material is Alumalite and a type of cactus. The cactus pressure stabilizes very well and turns like it is all resin. The finish on both is CA and BLO.

Wish my photos were better. I am working on that but I need to get a real camera sometime.

Thanks,

Alan

Thanks guy's for the kind words. I will see what I can do for a tutorial. The one thing you need is a pressure pot. I cast at very high pressure for these types of blanks 115 to 120PSI which is way over what the pot is designed for. I have seen some cut loose. They don't blow up typically the gasket lets loose and knocks the pot over or spews resign all over. I will see if I can find some pics of my pot.

Thanks,

Alan
