    1st Acrylic Pen

Well, I broke down and turned an acrylic pen today at the FEWS meeting, I'd not done one before, they just seem to be plasticy...........

I turned the pen start to finish with the Ci1 and the 4" radius cutter. I was able to get a finish right off the Ci1 that I started sanding at #600 and stopped at around #5000, then some buffing compound and some wax.......

Great-looking pen, Stu. I've gotten to where I like turning acrylics as much as or more than wood. I really like the fact that the only finishing necessary is progressively finer abrasives, up to machine buffing. Plus, they've got some really cool acrylic blanks available. I like your cow print...I'm still looking for a good leopard print pattern in an acrylic blank.

Great looking pen Stu. I am like Vaughn and really like turning acrylic. I use a skew from start to finish and start sanding at 400 or 600.

Careful, pretty soon you will be making your own blanks. One affliction I have avoided so far.
