Well, I broke down and turned an acrylic pen today at the FEWS meeting, I'd not done one before, they just seem to be plasticy........... :rofl::rofl:

I turned the pen start to finish with the Ci1 and the 4" radius cutter. I was able to get a finish right off the Ci1 that I started sanding at #600 and stopped at around #5000, then some buffing compound and some wax.......

I think I'll be doing more of these :D :thumb:

Great-looking pen, Stu. I've gotten to where I like turning acrylics as much as or more than wood. I really like the fact that the only finishing necessary is progressively finer abrasives, up to machine buffing. Plus, they've got some really cool acrylic blanks available. I like your cow print...I'm still looking for a good leopard print pattern in an acrylic blank. :thumb:

Yeah But, Stu,,, look what ya went an did. Ya got it so smooooth, ya got it all blotchy.

But seriously folks, Stu, that is a real nice looking pen. :thumb:
I have yet to make my FIRST pen of any kind. Maybe I'll get brave someday.

Aloha, Tony
