You guys weren't kidding about the abyss that is Lathe Land.

I have found the fun world of pen turning! It probably didn't help that, while working at Woodcraft, most everyone has turned at least a pen or two. I started with the free Penn State video, that someone posted here about. :thumb: Then I took a class at the store, given by Kurt Hertzog (a well known turner in these parts). Then I just started making them.

Right now, I'm doing mostly slim lines & euro/deco slim lines. Some with center bands, some without. Using a variety of woods: Becote, Padauk, Lacewood, Cherry, Maple, Black Walnut & White Oak.

Before anyone says anything about pictures, i know, i know, "no pictures--it didn't happen".... Where I am posting from, I don't have access to pictures of my pens. Hopefully tonight I will be able to update this post with some pen pictures.

Pictures Added.....
#1 Black Walnut - HUT friction finish - My 1st Pen!
#2 Becote - CA & wax finish -- this was from the class I took.
#3 Purple Heart - CA & wax finish -- This was a gift to my wife.
-It didn't turn out as purple as I was hoping for, but oh well....
#4 Padauk - CA & wax finish
#5 Becote - CA & wax finish - gift for my best friend
#6 Lacewood - CA & wax finish - gift for my best friend
#7 Cherry - HUT friction finish - My 2nd Pen!
