Hackberry bowl & Cedar & Maple Burl Box

    Hi Folks
I've been away for a while and finally got back in the shop. Here are a couple of things I finished this week. The bowl is Hackberry 7.5" wide and 4"deep. The box has a Cedar top and Maple burl bottom, 5" tall and 2.5" wide.
    Any comments welcome.
    thanks for looking

I forgot to mention no finish on the inside of box lid to let the Cedar smell better.

looks good Jr question,, does having finish on one side of a turned project do the same thing as it does on flat work causing warps usually?

    Hi Larry
I have'nt had any problem with it, I guess the thickness and dryness of the wood would matter, my cedar has been cut about a year and a half. I just always try to leave a small area unfinished in cedar.

Nice job on both pieces, Larry. Did that cedar make your shop smell good?

Larry M, in my limited experience, turned pieces that have finish on just one side don't seem to have a warping problem like flatwork can have. I think a lot of it has to do with the size of the piece, compared to something like a table top or piece of furniture.
