I have a supernova 2 with the jaws it came with. I think 50mm. They work fine for turning bowls and larger pieces. I've been turning a few birdhouses and smaller finials. I have to start with a fairly large blank and waste a lot of wood because of the the size of the jaws. I've been thinking about getting a set of 25mm so I can start with a smaller blank. What would you recommend?

That should work fine. Or you could use a waste block in the jaws you have and glue smaller blanks to that. Smaller jaws are nice to have though, especially if you mount them to an extra chuck body so you don't have to keep swapping jaws.:thumb:

I'll second Don's comments. I have the 25mm jaws, and although I don't use them a lot, they are very useful for the smaller stuff. (I've been in "big" mode lately, so mine have not been getting nmuch use.)
