    Wood Gloat

Well finally have a wood gloat. Coming home from work tonight a gentleman I knew was trimming a maple tree. He called it silver maple. Anyway got 3 logs and a half log. Ended up with 13 bowl blanks and a couple of them are crotch piieces. Already have them cut into blanks and can't wait to tear into these.

Silver maples are pretty when the wind blows in the leaves. Isn't it a soft maple?

    Way to go Bernie.
Now that is worth gloating about.

Alright, those should compliment all the walnut bowls you must have by now

Thanks. Yep Stu I just about fell over when I saw the wood. We just don't have many maples around here. I am excited to get started. Gouges were sharpened last night. Ready to rock and roll tomorrow.
