Hi guys:
haven't posted much lately. been out and about with the warm spring weather up here in the great white north.
I thought I would try a large pepper mill. It is 12" high and 2.75" in dia, the wood is cherry I have been told. it was given to me so I can't be sure. I put some ebony stain and wipe on poly on it as a finish so far. I glued four pieces of the wood together to get the diameter big enough. all comments welcomed.

Good critique.

Hi Joe,
That is a very nice mill, I like the design, but if I may make one critical remark, in my opinion the base is out of proportion to the rest of the mill... I would think it will be top heavy and a little unstable on the narrower base.
Otherwise, it definitely gets :thumb:

I think you may be right. I could be wider at the base, and a little narrower at the top. It do take a fair bump to get it to topple though. It has a one inch bore, so I could have made the profile smaller as it goes to the top.

Thanks.

Joe
