I didn't know it went to retirees, but there is a Labatt's brewery here in town and I know one guy who works there and they also get a certain amount of free beer -- but far less than years ago.

Every job has it's perks, depending on it's industry.

Saw this story the other day on another forum. Oh, the humanity!

I think "Free Beer" would be the ultimate name for a bar band. Guaranteed packed house every night.

    Tonight! At The Roxy...FREE BEER!

It's actually fairly common. The local Miller distributor allowed 4 cases a week and has a huge room where they have the cases that have ripped open or something else and can't sell to give to employees. We used to get a lot of beer for free when my friend worked there.

Funny, funny, funny,... in here the maximum you get is your retirement pay.

On some companies, you can purchase the products you help to produce at a lower price or employees discount but that's all.
    Best regards,
    Toni

    Four cases a week!?

Just four cases would last me about three years1

The Molson article says 72 twelve packs per year - Two would probably last me a year, but with the other seventy, I'll bet I'd have a lot of friends!
