    bandsaw dust port question

on your bandsaw, preferablly a large one does the dust port have a web in the take off on the machine? on mine it has a X across the opening either to strain out the big stuff or may be there for a easier way to locate the hub for welding. well its one there now and i dont need it cathun this striggy stuff from these bowl blanks. so can i take it out with out having trouble with the left over warauntee or structural troubles

My saw had exactly the same, a three legged cross on the exhaust port, I took it away and it didn't make any difference at all. I guess that they put it there to prevent pipes than fit inside ( not on the outside) going deeper than they should.

Mine was removed when it was placed in the shop. I remove them from any machine that has them.

I figured you would get out the grinder, not that little toy.

Forget the grinder. Get the plasma cutter.
