Toni those pictures are all over the house & were painted by my step Mom.

What's the vent in the lower right corner? I'm guessing it's an extension of a floor vent. Am I close?

Yes Vaughn the entertainment center sets over a floor vent so I built in an extension of aluminum flashing on the bottom side of the right end & cut a hole in the toe kick & fastened a wooden vent cover over it.

You and I are in similar situations - my mother in law is an artist and my house has a painting in pretty much every room of the house. She gets "protective" of her work and will "repo" a work if it's not being displayed.

The good news is she's a good artist . . .
