Man, I'm ready to pull out all of my hair!

My planer had a shroud or a transition I just slapped together when I got it, it was poorly built and was just supposed to be a stop gap, well that was some time ago:rolleyes:

I went to use the planer to dimension the walnut for the display humidor, and the shroud thing just simply collapsed........:(

OK, time to get out the paper, and the compass and make a much better transition, or shroud.

I found this page TRANSITON and followed along and the results are not bad............ the second time

Can anyone spot my little whoops......

transition_whoops2.jpg
Yep, kind of in the way.......

transition_bent_up1.jpg
I'll solve this this a wedge shaped piece that will fit in there..........

transition_wedge1.jpg
..............like this.........

transition_wedge2.jpg
.........I'll make it one solid piece, so I can easily lift the lid to change knives.........

Oh well, I'll get it done, but man, I'd rather be making chips and working on the darn display case......... :D

Cheers!

Oops!!!

I did that once with my molder.
I sat back and was slapping my back some. Finally got the chips under control on this beast.:thumb: :D
Next day or so, I changed the knife profile, stuck some wood in it, and--
Wood was stuck on the shroud end.:( :dunno:

OK, I got it done!!!

There is the wedge, worked out fine.......

I retained the ability to open the top with just removing one screw.
