Mora Vessel w/ Beech Pedestal

Here is a piece that I turned from a 2 x 8 x 8 piece of Mora. It is a hard, dense wood that takes finish well. I used Teak Oil for finish; it required only two coats. The pedestal is Beech; it required an additional coat of finish. I Beall buffed the piece as well. Comments welcome.

Mark, that is stunning stuff, the wood is really beautify!

I love the bowl, I'm not so sure about the pedestal, but my wife says she thinks it looks nice, so what do I know :eek: :D
 
What's not to like. Beautiful piece of wood, excellent turning work, great finish. This is beautiful. Love your choice of wood for the pedistal. Such a lovely piece.

Mark i am stunned. The second picture is just an awesome color and finish. I agree with Stu and Pete not sure about the base matching. And as Frank said Elegant best describes it for me. Real classy.:thumb:
