Interior door

I have a set of freud entry door bits And I have configure them for interior doos. My question is. As a general rule, how much smaller do I make the door from the opening? This is all new I have not had a door there before. Thanks

Tim, I believe the common approach is to make the door 1/2" narrower than the finished opening it's going into. I've seen other references saying the rough opening should be two inches wider and taller than the door, but I don't remember the specifics about how the rest of the space is taken up by the trimwork.

Take this all with a big ol' grain of salt though...there are other guys here who know a lot more about interior door installation than I do. ;) They'll probably be chiming in pretty soon.

RO= 38x82 for a 3/0x6/8 prehung door.
if you build to fit a hole the door size depends on your jamb.
i prefer to build "standard" sized doors and jambs.
