Larry get a roll of Liberon 0000 steel wool and buff it out. You can also use wool-out with it if you like and you will get the silkiest finish possible. It will take some Elbow grease.

I've gotten what I think you are looking for by using satin wipe-on poly. Once the poly is dry, I apply wax, using 0000 steel wool. The fine steel wool doesn't really change the surface but removes any dust nibs. That, along with the wax, gives that good feeling surface.

I've also learned that the silky smooth feel starts before you apply a drop of finish with good sanding. If I let myself rush the sanding, I get poor results (in my mind.) I've gone to hand sanding with 220 when I finish any other sanding. It doesn't take much. But I run my left hand over the areas where the right hand has sanded and go back to any spots that don't feel good.
