    Spalted maple

The smaller of the bowls is 7" wide and about 5" tall and the platter is 12" round and about 3" tall. Finish on both is danish oil. This maple is some I found along the road almost 2 years ago! I used the log which was about 2 feet wide and long to cut up blanks for quite awhile before finally cutting it up to.

    Comment and critques please....

Wow, you really went thin on that platter.

I like both of them. Great wood and the turning and finish look great. Critique-wise, I'd like to see more of a curve on the outside of the bowl, to better mirror the inside curve. And maybe a bit smaller foot on it, too. Real nice work nonetheless.

    Thanks to all of you!

I just cut up some more of the maple and hope to finish it this weekend.
