Just saw this on another forum and figured I'd pass it along...

It applies to the model R4511 hybrid saw.

That doesn't sound good at all.

Glad I have a Unisaw and my old Craftsman (even though the Uni is in storage and the C-man is still in a state of SLOW restoration)

Ridgid has a good track record with their previous saws (I've been real happy with mine), and I'm glad to see they're being proactive about fixing this problem. (Free onsite replacement of the arbor.)

From their own report:

Hazard: The table saw’s arbor shaft can fail when used with a stacked blade set (commonly known as a “stacked dado set” and used to cut grooves). The stacked blade set can be ejected from the saw, posing a potential laceration hazard to consumers.

Does an 8" diameter dado stack impaled in someone's head, chest or shoulder count as a laceration hazard? Holy cow, what a lack of quality control. Whatever buyer/engineer sourced the arbor manufacturer probably dropped something in their shorts!

I read earlier this year that Steel City had a similar problem with one of their table saw models as well.

Yikes!
