    Lacquer question

    I am wondering if tinting lacquer w/ whit dye is the wame as them stuff they sell pre tinted? Asking becouse a cleint want to see a sample panel befor approving me respraying their kitchen. Will tinting it be close enough to the same for me to make a sample panel(door)?

    i wouldn`t......white lacquer uses different pigments than a dye and it will look different. a gallon is under 20$ here so providing a sample to the customer shouldn`t be cost prohibitive.

    We use a little white undercoater lacquer in the sealer to get a white washed look like your talking about. Keep the coating thin.

    The cabinets she has are white lacquer and they athe finish is getting worn. She wants me to sand and respray them for her. She just want to see a sample to make sure she likes it.

    Tod, I had a feeling it wouldnt work, but wanted check with others first.Tommrow morin I will call mohawk and order a gallon.

    Thanks again for the help. Now back to makein some larch flooring.
