maybe cook that a bit and dry that faster, cause at retail level in the northeast, the walnut is fetching anywhere from 12-18 dollars a bf.

I don't think he's joking. I've seen upwards of $12/bf retail out here for unremarkable kiln dried walnut. I have no idea what they'd charge for pretty stuff like that crotch wood, but it wouldn't be cheap.

I dont remember the name of the wood supplier, but the guy up in the bronx NY, hes a big dealer, I was told he was charging 12.65 a bf for walnut months ago.(and I think that was for trade, not for me)
I was going to check the online prices at woodply, the guy thats 20 minutes from me, but his site seems to be down.
Im sure hes over 10 a bf, he charges 5.60 for rough white oak.

My wood guy charges 4.95 for black and 5.5 for purevian.
