This is from the same maple source as this thread, http://familywoodworking.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10311 and it has a lot going for it! Lots of worm holes, a few small cracks, bark inclusions, color variation and lots of tight curl.

This one is 8 ¼” diameter x 5 ¼” high by 1/8” thick. Sanded to 320 grit and so far it has only one saturated coat of Minwax Wipe-On Poly. Wanted to take a few photos of the piece to show off all the variations without having to deal with any glare issues.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Tim - I'm not under any time constraints but I started late afternoon on Friday and shaped the outside. That took about 45 minutes. Hollowed a little bit on Saturday, Sunday and then finished it on Monday - for an additional 3 hours or so. So, taking my time - around 4 hours. If I really rushed it - around 3 hours 55 minutes. For me - hollowing and mass production do not play well together.
